At the end of 2018, I received a request to design an exhibition for the Cuban artist Carlos Quintana for the Venice Biennale of Art.
I received a folder full of photos of him and his work, and the request to immediately design an ad for an art magazine (Art Nexus) and later the graphic system for the upcoming exhibition. As there was no time and no concept for the ad, I decided to show him at work. This also gave me the opportunity to show the scale of his work – quite large.

Later, I played with the idea of 'infinite, endless', trying out different concepts and graphic ideas for the big exhibition, from more graphic to more photographic, from minimalist to chaotic and everything in between. Until I received another batch of images with the rabbit artwork in them. That was it: the hollow eyes of the rabbit captured me. I'd found the "infinito".
It took some persuading to get permission to use this predominantly bright pink image as the main visual, but it was worth it. The public loved it. In the days following the opening, people could be seen all over Venice carrying the (pink) bag with the rabbit. The exhibition gained a lot of visibility in the ocean of exhibitions that is the Venice Biennale.
I worked on many different formats, from digital: social media posts, invitations and a newsletter; to print: brochure, flyer, a press kit, a large 3m x 3m banner, VIP invitations, business cards, etc.
As a contrast to the bright pink, I used a dark blue, in some cases for the typography, in others more as a background for white lettering, as on the walls of the exhibition and also on the stands for the paintings.

The rabbit painting was one of the last ones people saw when visiting, as it was in the upper floor, alone in a room, which created even more fascination for the painting.
