Client: Franckesche Stiftungen zu Halle (Francke Foundations in Halle)
2017
Branding, Style Guide, Campaigns for events. Concept, Layout, Production management
The »Franckesche Stiftungen zu Halle« were founded in 1695 by August Hermann Francke and are one of Germany’s oldest institutions for social education. With their 40 partner institutions the Stiftungen today are a unique centre of cultural, scientific, educational, social and Christian institutions, a complex with kindergartens, children’s creativity centre, schools, a House of Generations, a youth workshop, a bible centre, traditional commercial enterprises, archives, libraries, museums, university and non-university research facilities among several others. Today over 4000 people learn, teach, work and live in the Franckesche Stiftungen.
At the end of 2016 anschlaege.de was commissioned with the redesign of the Stiftungen’s corporate design. From February till July 2017 I was in charge of its graphic implementation, the broadening of its style guide and the creation and production of additional printed products, flyers and posters that supported and announced exhibitions and events.
One of the most challenging (and exciting) aspects of the task was that almost every media had to cover a broad range of content and speak to diverse target audiences.
Our approach to the re-design of Francke’s corporate design merges equally the foundations rich history and their progressive aspirations, for example through the use of graceful typography elements, generous amounts of white space and a reader-friendly layout.
»Du bist frei. Reformation für Jugendliche«
(in English: You are free. Reformation for Juvenile) was an exhibition curated and hosted by the Franckesche Stiftungen on which advertising campaign I worked: several booklets, a guide, invitations and a wide billboard campaign rounded the project.
